Funny: We met one guy who was sitting on his porch this week
and we never actually learned his name. We just call him "poet dude"
because he has apparently written over 500 poems (spiritual poems) and was
"blessed to be able to memorize every one of them". By the end of the
conversation, we had heard two of his poems and they weren't life changing, but
you could tell they were his passion. Sister Quigley and I just kept making
crazy faces at each other when he was in the poem zone and he was just very interesting.
We will probably try him another day and see where his life is, but I bet that
every missionary companionship has talked to him. Small seeds...
Spiritual: I'm never sure how to do personal study so I
spent some time thinking about that this week. We have an hour every day and we
are supposed to fill it with ways to help our investigators grow spiritually.
Luckily enough, this week's district meeting talked about how personal study is
about trying to fill our spiritual tool box and get more resources to share
with people. I also studied about studying and I'm really grateful for Preach
My Gospel.
Where I'm at: Arkadelphia is really interesting right now
because college and school just started, but everybody feels really busy still.
It's hard to find people outside even though the weather is getting better. Our
recent converts are doing really well and the Branch is supporting them. I
can't believe it's almost September.
