So, all the doors that we knock on have absolutely cute
wreaths or door decorations and I’m not sure if it is just a southern thing,
but my favorite saying so far has been "Happy Fall, Y'all" and it is perfect
because it totally looks and feels like Fall here. Except that it is the
perfect fall and so you only need a cardigan to be warm enough. It is
happy.
Funny: We are still helping scrapbook for a blind lady in
branch. I made a page with a picture of her son next to a snowman and a snow
day here in Arkansas. (There was about an inch or two of snow) I decided to be
really funny and write "Do you wanna build a snowman" on his page and
after the fact i told the member, but she only thought it was a little funny.
Bwahaha. That's what you get when you ask the missionaries to scrapbook for
you. I'm going to be so great at scrap-booking by the end of this.
Spiritual: Our branch had its second official
"Invite-a-friend Sunday" yesterday and it was so amazing! The members
were so supportive and brought food for the potluck and their friends. One lady
named Lisa only came for Sacrament Meeting to hear her friend speak, and so we
didn't get to talk to her much. We had forgotten that she had even come. Then, that
evening we were driving around trying to decide where to tract at. We ended up
stopping at a random street and knocked at a few houses. We knocked at a house
and Lisa answered the door! She talked to us for a minute and we were able to
talk about church, become her Facebook friend, and set a return appointment! It
was such a miracle! Such a cool thing.
Where I’m at: I get to stay in Arkadelphia for another
transfer with the lovely Sister Esplin. We have Maria still on date and we are
excited for another six weeks and especially for the Branch Halloween Party and
the Musical Fireside that we get to do as missionaries next Sunday.
I am so happy to be here and i am looking forward to helping
my mission get 80 baptisms by the end of the year!
Much love!
Sister Black
