Super Sisters!

Funny: The Arkadelphia Branch puts on a wonderful Halloween Party! Quite a few people came, even though the weather was pretty cold. There were hot dogs, mini cupcakes, and a chili cookoff contest and we brought homemade pizza. One of the most exciting parts was when the "hay ride" drove past a few cows. The kids in the ride started yelling "Moo! Moo!" to the nearby cows and were trying to get the cow's attention. It worked. The cows started stomping and walking in circles and a cow even started chasing us! Luckily, it was just trying to play with us and so we all survived. We were fairly worried for our lives. Luckily, no Sasquatch jumped out at us during our ride. That happened on the next ride around. It was actually really funny. We started the night as the "Super Sisters!" and ended the night with the title of the "Spirit Sisters!" It was such a party.

Spiritual: The Musical Fireside in Little Rock was last night and it was quite a lovely experience. We performed about 5 songs and there were soloists, duets, and a few missionaries that could play instruments involved too. The things that i learned at that event were that the spirit comes when you have spiritual music, but it comes more powerfully through doctrine and testimony. There were a few missionaries that got to share their testimonies of why they chose to serve a mission and why they are sharing the Gospel. I loved hearing their words and their experiences. It really put the whole evening in perspective and i was so grateful that i get to be with these missionaries, right here, right now. As we were waiting to go on stage, i told the sister next to me that the verse for this experience is in 2 Nephi, at the end of chapter 8, verse 3 "Joy and gladness shall be found therin, thanksgiving and the voice of melody."I loved performing and sharing my testimony. That was my one and only fireside, but it was such a good one. Ahhh! This church is so true!

Where I’m at: Sister Esplin are still here in Arkadelphia, we spent most of the week doing service and visiting those around us. We are having good experiences on Facebook and have seen a lot of clarification come regarding how to balance our time better and get to do everything we have been asked to work on. I'm totally not amazing at it yet, but I’m trying hard!

Have a joyful week!
Sister Black
