Don't Ask Us to Weed Your Garden

Spiritual: We got to have a lesson with a sister who joined the church last March. We weren't sure where she was at spiritually because she had only come to church one time in the month or so we had been here, but we asked her for advice for teaching about the Kingdoms of Glory. That was a subject we had role played the night before, but felt uncomfortable teaching. That was just the perfect thing to ask her about! She told us about how she prayed and knew things were true even if she didn't really understand them. She also shared some of her concerns and just talked, even though when we had first come in she said she was having a headache. It was a really cool experience because we really needed the help and she really was able to understand that we wanted to hear about her and learn from her.

Funny: A few weeks ago, we met a lady named Linda and volunteered to help her in her garden. We helped her with that the next week and had a fun time (we learned afterwards that we actually pulled out some of her son's favorite flowers. Whoops!). We went back to help again this week and we ended up helping her straighten up her house. She is just the sweetest! We introduced her to the Book of Mormon and she was very open to it and wanted to start reading it. It was just a testimony to me that service opens hearts. Even if you accidentally pull out flowers instead of weeds :)

Where I’m at: I am staying another transfer in Paragould and will finish training Sister Taylor. We actually are really glad because we were mentioned in the newspaper this week and would be sad to lose our five minutes of fame due to a transfer. We really were famous a little bit, all the old ladies who read the newspaper at the Senior Center we volunteer at talked about it. I'm having a happy time and am excited for another week!
