Where I'm at: Wow this week went by so fast! I'm so excited
for the future because I am going to be serving with Sister Esplin and Hermana
Quigley is going to whitewash Batesville Spanish with another Hermana. She is
going to do such a good job! Arkadelphia is going to miss her, but she is going
to be so great! Sister Esplin and I are going to the Memphis temple next Monday
so we might not have much email time but I am fine to sacrifice email time for
the opportunity to go to the temple. Another cool thing that is going on in the
Little Rock mission is that we are going to get area smartphones and Facebook
very soon. I think that we are going to take our mission to higher and higher
heights with this technology and I'm super excited to share the gospel in a
bunch of ways.
Spiritual: We had met a lady named Maria over the weekend
and came by her house to teach her this week. We ended up being able to teach
her and her kids. Her kids are junior high and high school age and so the
lesson started pretty crazy, but we were able to bring the spirit and testify
of the Book of Mormon. I'm pretty sure we ended up on Snapchat at some point,
but they all committed to read and we have another chance to meet with them
this week. I am so excited.
Funny: We ended up in Bismarck on Saturday and saw a lot of
animals. We saw horses and wolves and chickens and it was very fun. I got to
pet the wolves. They belong to a super cute couple that live near their family
and they just want to provide a sanctuary for these rescued wolves. They just
told us to never bring food near the wolves. It was an iconic experience.
I'm super excited for transfer #3!
We also asked Emma about any Harvey residual that she experienced. This was her response: So here in Arkadelphia there are a lot of old people that
watch the news so we heard about Hurricane Harvey from one old lady and then we
heard the rest of the news from people that bore their testimonies in Fast
Sunday. Also, people here are really obsessed with Facebook so they will talk
about one picture that "went viral" and everybody but us all know
what they are talking about. We had to bike through some of the Harvey
leftovers and that wasn't fun, but wind was more of a problem than rain here.
Everybody kept telling us it was supposed to rain. It sprinkled
sometimes.
