Spiritual: This last week I got to go to the Memphis Temple
for the first and last time as a missionary. It is being closed for cleaning/
repairs in October so our Mission President, President Hansen, arranged for us
all to be able to go and do one last session there before it closed. Unlike the
other times I went to the temple, I prepared really sincerely and specifically
and came with a few questions. I was able to sit in the Celestial Room after
the session and be surrounded by missionaries who have the same purpose as I did and I was able to stay as long as I wanted. I was able to feel the Spirit
really strongly and I just felt like I could see how strong my testimony of
eternal families is. Temples are the house of God and they let us feel his
peace. It was such an amazing opportunity and I guess I will see it again at
some point after my mission.
Funny: We ate lunch at a less-active lady's house this week
and it was fun. We had eaten there before, but we know that she doesn't have
lots of funds so we were like "we love PBJ's!" So we had peanut
butter and strawberry jelly sandwiches. On rye bread. IT WAS SO GROSS. Never
combine those ingredients. The only thing that was really wrong was the rye
bread. It was so so so bad. I think it was the worst meal on my mission so far,
but I ate the entire thing. It was hard. Ack. Never again.
Where I'm at: We are thriving in Arkadelphia, Sister Esplin
and I are now Facebook active and have smartphones at our disposal. We are
going to go make friends with everybody and share videos left and right. Also,
we have our car back and so we get to go visit the farthest regions of our area
this week. General Conference is going to be so good!
Hurrah for Israel!
