Potholes and Prophets

So the good news is that we haven't broken our phone yet. It is way more fragile than our lovely dinosaur of a phone that we used to have so we will have to be much kinder to it. It's alive for now. I don't know what happens if we break it and I don't plan to find out. I respect the widow's mite. Also, I like the upgrade.

Where I'm at: I'm still in Arkadelphia, which is the home of really nice weather and good Baptist people. We were able to travel around our area a lot this week, but unfortunately, most of the people that we tried to visit didn't exist or weren't home. Classic. The Lord sees our efforts to help those who live far out. Also, I’m partially afraid of dogs because they sometimes are scary and I didn't grow up with them. I'm getting better at cats.

Funny: Our car is a cute, little, silver 2015 Toyota Corolla, but this area doesn't really like that style. Let me give you an example. So we are down in Gurdon, trying to visit a former investigator that neither of us have ever met before. We end up on a super dirt road and are going slowly (like 10 mph) and out of the blue, we are in a very large pothole! Sister Esplin even got an aggressive driving mark :( Nevertheless, we carry on. We had to literally swerve past 2 more huge potholes and we suddenly see a huge ditch, like it looked like a backhoe had dug large holes and then left. We would have needed a bridge to cross it. We are diligent, but not stupid so we did an immediate 8-point turn and got out of there. We now want a bigger car. It was so exciting.

Spiritual: We have started teaching our recent converts the new member lessons and it is very fun. We got to teach with a Brother who is serving in the young men's program and his daughter. We taught them the first lesson again and it was cool. Sara especially was able to testify of how much she loves the Book of Mormon and we invited them to watch General Conference, which they did. It is off to a great start!

Emma was very excited to make crepes for conference breakfast. She forgot about toppings but said that they were pretty good with pepperoni and cheese anyway.

Doing service at Lake DeGray.
