Funny: We had some exciting experiences this Halloween.
First of all, we spent the morning at the Dentist. So exciting. The dental
staff kept telling Sister Esplin to not eat candy or sugary things, they told
her this so much probably as a preparatory anti-Halloween agenda. It was a good
thing to get done. In another instance, we went to host a surprise Halloween
party for a member who came to church every Sunday in September. We ended up
singing Christmas songs and doing her dishes and keeping her cats from
scratching away at my bag. It was still really fun. Then we went to make
contact with another member, who opened the door without much clothing on.
Aaaaaaaah. Trick or treaters be warned. We told her Happy Halloween and then
left. My favorite part was that we got to see really epic decorations and eat
dinner with a cute member who was dressed like a gypsy. She also gave us candy
(!!) and then we decided to head home because the streets were full of kids and
it was getting dangerous. It was an exciting time!
Spiritual: We have met a sweet mom named Brandy who has a
set of twins that are 3 and a little 1-year-old girl. She is so busy and
frantic all the time and we were able to teach her the restoration. When we asked
her if she had ever wondered why there were so many questions, she looked at us
and told us that she wonders that all the time. It was really cool to start
sharing our message of hope and happiness with her! We will work with her
continually and keep building her testimony piece by piece. Her kids were SO
cute though. And they kept trying to climb on my lap. It was fun, but
hard.
Where I’m at: I'm excited to spend November here in
Arkadelphia. It gets dark around 6:00 pm so that's going to be a challenge, but
now we have Facebook so we are really blessed because of that. I'm excited to
keep learning and teaching here!
Have a happy week!
Sister Black
